This elegant crochet infinity scarf works up quickly and is easy to do, using only Treble Crochet and Double Crochet stitches. Materials required are 2, 85g skeins Loops and Threads Aran Tweed yarn, or approximately 170g of size 4 medium worsted weight yarn, a 5.50mm (I/9) crochet hook for scarf body, and a darning needle for assembly. Finished measurements are app. 70” x 10” and the pattern is written in US crochet terms.

Tipsy Triples Infinity Scarf Crochet Pattern:

Level:  Easy

Finished Measurements:  approximately 70” by 10”

Materials:

  • 2, 85g skeins Loops and Threads Aran Tweed yarn, or approximately 170g of size 4 medium worsted weight yarn
  • 5.50mm (I/9) crochet hook for scarf body
  • Darning needle for assembly
  • Supplies for whichever blocking method you prefer

Time to Complete: App. 4.5 hours

Stitches (U.S. standard abbreviations and stitches):    

          ch: chain                       sp: space

          tr: treble crochet           dc: double crochet

          sl st: slip stitch      

      

To work a treble crochet (tr): yarn over hook twice, insert hook in indicated space, yarn over, draw through one loop on hook, yarn over, draw through two loops on hook, yarn over, draw through two loops on hook, yarn over, draw through remaining two loops on hook; one loop remaining on hook

To work a double crochet (dc): yarn over, insert hook in indicated space, yarn over, draw through one loop on hook, yarn over, draw through two loops on hook, yarn over, draw through two loops on hook; one loop remaining on hook

This version uses charcoal variegated yarn with a black border

Scarf Directions

With 5.50mm hook, ch24

Row 1:  skip first 5ch (counts as beginning ch4), work 4tr in 6th ch from hook, ch3, tr in same ch as last 4tr, *[skip next 4ch, 4tr in next chain, ch3, tr in same sp as last 4tr], repeat from * two more times, skip next two ch, tr in last chain, turn (4 tr,ch3 groups – 1tr)

Row 2: ch4 (counts as turning ch4), skip first tr, 4tr in next ch3 sp, ch3, tr in same ch3 sp, *[skip next 5tr, 4tr in next ch3 sp, ch3, tr in same ch3 sp], repeat from * two more times, skip next 4 tr, tr in top of beginning ch4 from row prev. row, turn (4 tr,ch3 groups – 1tr)

Repeat row 2 until scarf measures approximately 70”, or desired length.  Fasten off, leaving a 20” inch tail for assembly.  Sew the two scarf halves together on the short edges with a whip stitch.

Edging:

Row 1: Join in any edge ch3 sp, ch3 (counts as first dc), 2dc in same sp, *[3dc in each turning ch3 space, and each tr], repeat from * along edge, join with sl stitch to top of first ch3 (beginning dc of edging), fasten off, repeat for other edge, weave in ends, block scarf (hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry in desired shape using dressmaker pins if necessary to hold shape)
